Let\u2019s break it down and go through some of the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">basics of achieving an awesome audition.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>1.) Make sure that your booth or studio is up to snuff.<\/strong> To keep yourself <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">competitive, it is important to make sure you get a studio-quality <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">microphone &amp; amp; pop filter, and have a consistent and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thevoicerealm.com\/blog\/how-to-put-together-the-perfect-portable-voice-over-studio-setup\/\">sound-proof space to <\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">record. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Using a closet space can be awesome if you don\u2019t have the space to <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">build a booth in the other areas of your home. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, make sure that you <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">are not using a closet that you will need to get into often. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you are <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">constantly taking clothes\/blankets\/linens out of that closet, this will affect <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the sound when you record. Always read through the entire script and any notes on the script first.<\/strong> Get a <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">clear idea of what the client is looking for and what feelings they are wanting <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to promote in the listener. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you aren\u2019t sure, ask. If that option is not <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">available, from the information provided, take your best guess and go for it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>4.) When recording auditions and bookings it is important to pay attention to <\/strong><\/span><strong>what the client is looking for, of course, but ALSO to put your own personality <\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>into the recording.<\/strong> &nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">BE YOU. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Let what is unique about YOU be the part that <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">hits the client in a way that makes them stop and pay attention and <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ultimately choose you for the booking.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><strong>Generic is not interesting. Being unique is.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So let yourself flourish and really <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">enjoy the recording process, because that will come across in your voice and <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">make the end result so much better. The goal is to audition well and book the job, right?&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So give yourself a leg up and put some personality into your audios. Always review your audio after you have recorded it and confirm that you <\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>like your delivery.<\/strong> <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Remove any mistakes (if you don\u2019t use the punch and roll <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">method) and cut out any distracting noises or anything else you know the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">client wouldn\u2019t want to hear.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>6.) Make sure the file is in the form that the client requested (MP3 or WAV <\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>usually) and voila! You did it.<\/strong> <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You just recorded and put out an awesome <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">audition that you can feel good about. Take a sec to soak that in and pat <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">yourself on the back for going for it and achieving it and then get back down <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to business and move on to your next audition.
