My voice is a British English one with warmth and an easy, intelligent edge. It sits comfortably in the adult range and can settle into an older sound when a script calls for something more weathered. Versatile and engaging is how people tend to describe it, whether the piece is calm and factual or big and cinematic.
I'm a voice actor based in Wanaka, New Zealand, and my voice over work covers audiobooks, documentary, e-learning and explainer videos, movie trailers, radio commercials and television spots, video games, medical and general narration, tour guide pieces, impersonations and singing. My work has been heard by Grinding Gear Games, Natural History New Zealand, BBC Promos and World Service, BarclayCard, FedEx and Comedy Central.
I read a script a few times before I record so the meaning sits underneath the words rather than on top of them. Most jobs go back within 24 hours, and I record on weekends too. For directed work I use Source-Connect, ipDTL, or a simple session over Teams, Zoom or the phone.
Each voice lists a general turnaround time above. It is not a guarantee, but every voice aims to get your recording back as fast as they can, and the sooner you hire them the sooner it lands. Some talent, Kevin included, offer a four hour turnaround for clients who need something super fast. To find out who is free right now, post a free job notice.
How much will it cost to hire this voice?
Rates depend on what the recording is for and how long it is. Click Hire Voice Talent Now and the system walks you through it, showing the rate before you commit to anything.
Can I listen to this voice record my script?
Yes. Use Contact / Audition Voice to send a short part of your script. The voice records it for free so you can hear exactly how your words sound before you hire.
Can I check that the voice is available or audition them before I hire them?
You sure can. Our voice talent are full time voice actors, not hobbyists. If a voice is unavailable a notice shows on their profile with their return date. To check a specific time, or to audition, message them through Contact / Audition Voice. Where it asks for a script, just say it is still being developed.
How do I make payment? What forms of payment do you accept?
Click Hire Voice Talent Now next to the profile picture and the system leads you through. Before the script is sent you pre-pay by card, which we hold. When you are happy with the recording you click a button to close the job and release the funds, and you receive an instant tax invoice. We accept major credit cards and PayPal, and can set up accounts for long term clients.
How many re-records can I get to ensure my script is read the way I want?
If the voice has made a mistake or missed your direction, re-records are free. If you change the script after recording, that counts as a new recording. If the voice simply is not right for the job, the satisfaction guarantee lets you pick another voice from the roster to record the same script instead. Conditions apply.
Do I own the audio? What are the licencing terms?
Recordings for non-broadcast use (phone messages, YouTube, e-learning, audiobooks, personal use) are buyout in perpetuity, so you can use them forever with no extra fees. Broadcast recordings for TV, radio or internet commercials are licensed for one year from the recording date. Buyout in perpetuity for broadcast is double the rate. Recordings with several uses should have all applicable rates selected.
Can the voice talent add music or edit the recording into smaller files?
Yes, most talent offer production services. You provide the music you want mixed with the voice, and there is a small extra fee. Make sure you add Production when you hire them.
Where do the voice actors record the scripts?
All our voice actors have professional broadcast quality studios and record on professional microphones. They are representing your brand, and the sound reflects on your business, so you get the best for a recording that will be used for years.
